Detroit Hotel, Central Ave. and 2nd Street, downtown

Join us four our original downtown walking tour, an enjoyable stroll around and about downtown.  Our friendly tour guides take you through the early history of St. Pete, point out some of our city's architectural gems, and teach you a bit about Mediterranean Revival style architecture.

You’ll also find out about the origin of St. Pete's famous green benches, Dr. Van Bibber's 1885 declaration that St. Pete (Point Pinellas) is the healthiest locale in the United States, and see if you think the history of the 1920's boom and bust is being repeated today.

The tour is free for SPP members and $5 donation for non-members is requested.  Memberships are available at the beginning of the tour ($20 individual, $30 family) and include free walking tours through the end of the year.  St. Petersburg Preservation t-shirts and Waterfront Parks Centennial Celebration posters and notecards will also be sold ($10).

Please RSVP by phone at (727) 824-7802 or here on the website.  Tour admissions, membership dues, and t-shirt and centennial celebration sales will be collected at the start of the tour.  Thank you!
