DESCRIPTION:Come join us for an extended tour of Historic Kenwood on this Grand Prix race weekend.  If you are downtown, you can meet us in front of the Detroit Hotel at 10 am (Central Ave. & 2nd St.) or you can meet us at 10:30 am at the Craftsman House Gallery (2955 Central Ave). If you meet us downtown, rather than competing with the race, the tour will hop a Central Avenue trolley and meet the rest of the group at the Craftsman House Gallery.  The tour will give you a great opportunity to see and learn how Historic Kenwood succeeded in turning itself around to become one of the most desirable bungalow neighborhoods in the country.  The tour will stop inside the former Nolen Grocery building, converted to stunning residential units and stop inside another renovated bungalow.  The tour will end around noon at the Craftsman House Gallery, the original model home for Kenwood which today has been fully restored into a gallery of American crafts and a cafe.  We encourage to order lunch and enjoy springtime on their large front porch.
