      <description>&lt;p&gt;St. Petersburg Preservation Board meetings are held the fourth&amp;#160;Wednesday of  each month at 7p.&amp;#160; These meetings are open to all members, volunteers, and  people interested in St. Petersburg Preservation.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Meeting locations vary; if no location is listed for this month please &lt;a href="/LinkClick.aspx?link=58&amp;amp;tabid=108"&gt;contact&amp;#160;us&lt;/a&gt; to find out where we  will be&amp;#160;meeting.&lt;/p&gt;

      <title>Thursday, September 23, 2010 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM - Perspectives on the Parks</title>
      <description>&lt;div class="ListContent"&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Join us for a wonderful evening of performance and  discussion.&amp;#160; All are invited to the reception with cash bar starting at 6 pm.&amp;#160; The  program starts at 7 pm.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The performance will be by St. Petersburg's poet  laureate, Peter Meinke in the premiere reading of his waterfront centennial poem  followed by a panel discussion looking at how other cities have treated their  waterfront parks.&amp;#160; Learn what has worked in other cities that treasure their  waterfront.&amp;#160; Panel members will offer an international perspective and include  local architect Tim Clemmons, local landscape architect Phil Graham, University  of Miami professor of architecture Rocco Ceo and landscape architect Ed Hamm,  presently based out of Washington D.C.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The evening will end with an opportunity  for audience questions.&amp;#160; Don't miss this special evening!&amp;#160; Registration is  encouraged.&lt;/p&gt;

Come early and pick out a prime spot; bring your own chair or blanket or rent one of ours.&amp;#160; You can bring a picnic meal or even better yet, purchase a tasty delight from one of your favorite Saturday Morning Market vendors who will be set up in the park. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Music starts at 6:30 and the movie starts at 7:30.&amp;#160; Musicians and movie titles will be posted September 1 on the Waterfront Parks Centennial website.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

      <title>Tuesday, October 19, 2010 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM - 2010 Preservation Awards</title>
      <description>&lt;p&gt;To recognize the people, associations, and businesses helping save the  landmark buildings and places that make St. Petersburg special, St. Petersburg  Preservation offers Preservation Awards.&amp;#160;The Preservation Awards honor work on local buildings that are 50+ years  old and new construction that’s built to blend with neighboring older  structures.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The 2010 Preservation Awards ceremony will take place on Tuesday evening, October 19, 2010 at the Mirror Lake Lyceum.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;To nominate a person or place for an award please download a printable nomination form &lt;a href="/LinkClick.aspx?link=67&amp;amp;tabid=108"&gt;here&lt;/a&gt; and submit it via postal mail to St. Petersburg Preservation, P.O. Box 838, St. Petersburg, FL 33731.&amp;#160; The deadline for receiving nomination submissions is September 24, 2010.&amp;#160; Thank you!&lt;/p&gt;

      <title>Saturday, November 06, 2010 10:00 AM - 9:00 PM - Party in the Parks </title>
      <description>&lt;p&gt;This fun event is part of the year-long celebartion of St. Petersburg's waterfront park system, which is 100 years old.&amp;#160; &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Saturday, November 6, 2010 will feature activities over the course of the day throughout the downtown waterfront park system, from North Shore to Albert Whitted Airport.&amp;#160; Celebrate the waterfront parks centennial by joining in an old fashioned picnic and enjoying a wide range of activities from tours with the Coast Guard to enjoying antique cars to having fun with the Rays street team to taking a tour of the Gizella Kopsick palm arboretum.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Bayshore Drive will be closed to auto traffic but open for those on bicycle or foot.&amp;#160; The day’s many activities will end that evening with a free Movie in the Park.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
