Preserve the 'Burg porch parties are a great way to see preservation in action! Hosted every few months at a historic home the parties feature food, drink, great company and a tour and talk by the homeowner. Past party sites include: the historic Monticello apartments, saved from the wrecking ball in 2005 by relocation to the Old Northeast and lovingly restored to a private home; Flori-de-Leon cooperative condominium, former home to Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig; the home of local mid-century modern architect Bill Harvard; the Snell and Williams houses on the USF St. Petersburg campus, and a mid-century modern Glenn Johnson “Bird Cage” home.
